Summer evenings are perfect for pizza but turning the oven to 425 degrees for a half hour tends to heat our house up too much for it to be appealing. Que BBQ pizzas. I made homemade dough in the bread machine and rolled it out just like I would for normal pizza. We brushed both sides with oil and laid them on the grill on high heat for about 3-4 minutes per side.
Once both sides were cooked we added our sauce and toppings, turned down the heat to low and closed the lid for another 5-7 minutes.
The result is a delicious “wood-fire style” pizza and your house remains cool. You’re welcome. 😀
Happy cooking!
